Daniela Tuda, LCSW

ABOUT ME

My philosophy around treatment focuses on non-judgmentally meeting you where you are while also working to increase your ability and confidence to grow and find balance in your potentially ever-changing current environment. I am passionate about ensuring my clients feel seen and understood for who they are as people first and foremost, and I work to cultivate a therapeutic relationship that works for them personally.

I have extensive experience treating a wide range of clients using evidence-based practices. I have training and experience working both psychodynamically and behaviorally and take a collaborative approach, ensuring that together we work towards identifying and addressing your goals in whatever modality seems like the best fit for you.

These past few years and the current climate have supported my position on the importance of checking in with yourself and prioritizing your mental health. I can promise that I will work to take the time to help you feel supported and comfortable as you explore your thoughts and emotions in order to find greater freedom and a sense of meaning.

About Daniela Tuda, LCSW

I possess a deep-seated passion for empowering individuals and fostering positive change. Having completed my Masters in Social Work from Columbia University, I embarked on a journey to aid those in need, merging clinical expertise with a genuine compassion that is evident in every counseling session.

With extensive experience in the field, I specialize in providing evidence-based practices such as Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Problem-Solving Therapy with adolescents and adults. My multidimensional approach allows me to tailor interventions to each individual's unique circumstances, ensuring that every client feels heard, understood, and guided towards their personal growth journey.

Outside the therapy room, I engaged in continuous professional development, ensuring I remain at the forefront of emerging therapeutic techniques. As a result, I am also currently completing my Ph.D. in a Social Work program at Washington University and I am a National Institute of Mental Health  T32 Pre-Doctoral Fellow for mental health services research. Concurrently, I am working as a Research Scientist on various projects that aim to address the mental health inequities of racial and ethnic minorities living with serious mental illness and youth at risk for suicide. I aspire to obtain a Ph.D. in Social Work in order to pursue research interests related to community mental health and the implementation of evidence-based practices for marginalized communities.

When not immersed in my work, I enjoy traveling, hiking, and most importantly, cuddling with her two cats (Olive and & Chimichurri), while watching all things Netflix.

I am committed to walking alongside my clients, ensuring they have the necessary tools and insights to traverse the sometimes rocky terrain of life.
